BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Inventory Control Coach, maintains out-of-stock at 99% or above. Promptly respond to potential out-of-stocks, working with production, with the warehouse, and with receiving. Specific Duties: Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Maintain open lines of communication with all levels of the organization. 2. Control inventory dollars at or below budget. 3. Monitor and report vendor performance. Follow up and resolve all vendor problems quickly and efficiently. Clear all RMR products on a monthly basis. Follow up with vendors that do not comply with policies and procedures. 4. Respond to all production, customer service, warehouse, receiving, and shipping issues in a professional and timely manner. 5. Maintain a constant presence and develop good rapport with production, with the warehouse, with receiving, and with customer service. 6. Develop a solid foundation in all aspects of the plant operation. Understand how all millwork component parts relate to each other and impact the inventory control process. Develop skills necessary to calculate all parts needed for the assembly of special order units or for replacement parts needed by customer. 7. Monitor and control inventory integrity and inventory shrink to less than .5% of shipments. Perform cycle counts, compare cycle counts to book quantities, investigate discrepancies, and recommend cycle count adjustments. 8. Perform daily walk-through of the warehouse and the production floor. 9. Perform load planning for the facility. 10. Must be able to work in a team environment. 11. Must be willing to work overtime when necessary. 12. Must be willing to work in other areas when needed. 13. Perform various other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Demonstrated Skills and Experience: • Demonstrates a knowledge of and concern for safety issues. • Strong computer skills. • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong initiative. • Excellent attendance. • Excellent communication skills. Ability to interact positively with all team members and management staff. • Meets current department’s accuracy and productivity standards. • Excellent understanding of overall work flow of current department. • Practices excellent housekeeping throughout facility.
