Work Schedule Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week. Required to work a pre-determined schedule, but may be changed by management based on business needs. Lowe's Safety and Loss Prevention Policies and Procedures Reading Comprehension: Reading Comprehension Key Responsibilities - Prioritizes products to assemble based on date of customer order. - Reads manuals and directions to learn how to assemble products. - Notify RTM clerk of parts or products that are missing and necessary for assembly. - Observes all power equipment safety rules and regulations while assembling and/or performing pre-delivery inspections including observing all Hazmat rules and regulations in regard to power equipment fluids.
- Performs assembly and/or product pre-delivery inspection of Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) and all non-OPE as required by store. Job Description Effective Date: 6/15/2015 Page 1 of 3 Key Responsibilities (continued) - Participates in training for Hazmat, equipment, and safety procedures. - Ensures good housekeeping standards are in place and programs such as Area Recovery, are executed daily to guarantee that the store (Including work areas) is clean and organized at all times. -
Uses box bailer to compress cardboard that is sent to receiving. - Performs audits of potential assembled products awaiting parts and/or repair. - Participates in recycling programs by making sure proper materials (e.g., Appliances, Plastics, and Batteries) are recycled as appropriate.
- Detects common signs of theft and other security risks, and promptly communicates to management. - Prints assembly tasks from Sterling system to complete assembly alerts.
Physical Requirements Agility: The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks. This includes the ability to move throughout all areas of the Lowe's property surrounding the facility, or additional work areas.
Physical Strength:The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups.
Protective Equipment: The ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions. Stamina: The ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time. This may include performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periods. Visual Acuity: The ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, color, symbols, marks, labels, signs, video displays including iPads) clearly to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Proper Lifting Techniques: The ability to properly lift heavy objects or equipment. This includes the knowledge of correct bending and lifting techniques as needed to properly position and use one's hands, feet, legs, arms, and back to lift objects or equipment, and to push, pull, and carry heavy objects.
Hand-Eye Coordination: The ability to coordinate one's eyes with one's fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasks.
Work Conditions: The ability to perform job activities, with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable, under difficult work conditions such as in extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, while exposed to constant/intermittent sounds. Climbing: The ability to climb, work, and carry items up and down steps.
Manual Dexterity: The ability to make quick, accurate, skillful, coordinated movements of one hand, one hand in coordination with its arm, or two hands to grasp, place, move, or assemble objects.
Lifting: Lifts 26-40 pounds without assistance many times a day and also lifts 41-100 pounds without assistance daily.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction). Preferred Qualifications 3 months experience assembling common household goods (e.g., barbecue grills, wheelbarrow, patio furniture) OR 3 months mechanical/trade/construction experience (e.g., laborer, oil change shop). 3 months experience operating forklift/power equipment such (e.g., lifts).
