The Maintenance Utility Team Member is an entry level position for the Maintenance organization. In this position, the person will learn fundamental maintenance skills. This person will gain a basic understanding of equipment in the facility and assist a more experienced mechanic with repair tasks, project tasks, or preventive maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Utility will work independently to perform general maintenance tasks, simple preventive maintenance tasks, or simple routine maintenance tasks. As training, skills and experience progress, the Maintenance Utility will be assigned more complex tasks. Successful performers could be promoted to a Maintenance Mechanic.

EssentialFunctions and Responsibilities:

· Determine safety precautionsand requirements for task

· Prepare worksite; performlock-out/tag-out

· Gather tools and spareparts for task

· Use tools safely; checkcondition of tools prior to using; use appropriate personal protectiveequipment (PPE)

· Perform tasks as directedby more experienced mechanic, as indicated with work instructions and/or with mentoroversight (if applicable)

· Evaluate condition ofequipment

· Seek assistance from a moreexperienced mechanic if equipment needs to be repaired

· Change out equipmentbatteries

· Charge unused or deadbatteries

· Keep batteries in goodcondition; wash/clean battery trays

· Leave worksite in good andsafe condition; test eye washer, emergency shower

· Turn in unused spare parts

· Document condition ofequipment as found, work performed, spare parts used, and any other applicabledocumentation

· Close out work orders and Preventative Maintenance (PM) requests

· Enter data into 7I system(computerized maintenance management system)

· Perform rack repairs

· Perform general buildingmaintenance and repairs

· Operate and maintainsweeper scrubber when assigned throughout shift to ensure cleanliness of the building

· Inform next shift ofremaining work

· Provide status ofincomplete tasks bridging the two shifts

· Attend and participate intraining as scheduled

· Demonstrate positive and effective interactions with maintenance customers

AdditionalDuties and Responsibilities:

· Perform additional tasks asassigned by Maintenance Manager, Assistant Maintenance Manager, or Maintenance Coach
