Job Summary:
The Operations Coach is accountable forsupervising a high performing team responsible for handling product safely,efficiently and effectively as it moves through the facility. When monitoringproduction volume, the Operations Coach assigns Operations Team Members totasks involving receiving, putaway, picking or shipping product (includingappliances), or supporting tasks. The Coach must respond quickly tochanging workflow conditions and contribute positively to the facility’s keyperformance indicators. This person must be able to mentor andbuild a culture of safety among Team Members to achieve a safe workingenvironment.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Ensureall Team Members comprehend and execute safe practices
MonitorTeam Member performance; ensure Team Members are executing assigned tasksaccurately and as scheduled
Monitorstaffing needs for shift and adjust work to be accomplished on the shiftaccording to available resources and skill sets
Mentorand build relationships with Team Members; record planned encounters; completeannual review
Conductshift briefing, including safety topics, upcoming events and demand for the day
Expeditereceiving, picking and shipping of priority product (e.g., Special OrderExpress (S.O.E.) or Special Order Sales (S.O.S.))
Communicateeffectively with Team Members regarding business objectives or current issues
Set TeamMembers up for success; achieve or exceed key performance indicators, safety,performance and budget targets; record daily performance metrics
Completeall incident reports of product damaged in-house; complete accident reports forTeam Member injuries
Recordoff standard hours for Team Members
Promotesafety in the work environment; complete safety observations

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Discussand resolve issues with Team Members or issues between Team Members
PrepareTeam Members for upward promotion if interested
Prepareshift turn over documentation
Directresolution to equipment issues (for example, replace failed equipment orcontact Maintenance)
Identifyand assist in implementing process improvements
Respondto incidents or injuries with first aid (as trained)

Required Qualifications :
Proven record forcomplying with safety requirements, and ability to build a culture of safetyamong subordinates and peers
Demonstratedleadership and supervisory experience; successfully manages multiple taskssimultaneously
Demonstratedteam-building skills
Ability to buildrapport and trust with others
Experience andwillingness to mentor and coach others
Ability to resolveinterpersonal conflicts among team members
Approaches changeoptimistically; adjusts quickly and proficiently to changing work environments
Analytical andtroubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems; creative problem-solving
Basic computerskills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Able to lift up to 70pounds and ability to traverse a large warehouse floor repeatedly throughoutshift
Demonstrated trackrecord of good attendance
Communicates andlistens effectively
Can performdetail-oriented tasks in a stressfulfast-paced working environment
Able to read andfollow instructions and take directions from others
Ability to workindependently as well as with a team
Effectivelyprioritizes work and possesses time management skills
Highly motivated toOperation’s success; goal-oriented
Ability to learn newtasks and quickly apply new skill
Basic math andreading comprehension
High school diplomaor GED equivalent with 2-4 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications :
Critical thinking,oral, written communication and computer skills
College degree orequivalent work experience
Familiarity withdistribution center operations; previous warehouse experience
Previous powerequipment experience (e.g., forklift, reach truck, yard truck)
Experience withsoftware applications such as Excel, Access or DMS
SituationalLeadership II
