The principle purpose of the Location Human Resources Manager is for overseeing the human resources function within his/her assigned markets to drive change management, employee engagement, workforce management, performance management, talent development, succession planning, compensation, Benefits administration, and employee relations.

This position manages individual contributors responsible for exhibiting human resources functions within their location. The Location Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing and providing results that support strategic, creative, and collaborative leadership. This position may also provide HR support, leadership, and guidance to other Supply Chain locations as assigned (e.g., an FDC).

To accomplish this, the Location Human Resources Manager must have knowledge of human resources functions; human resources policies, strategies and environment; and human resources laws and regulations. An individual in this role must also have the ability to inspire and influence others to achieve Supply Chain and corporate-level goals.

The Location Human Resources Manager works closely with location leadership to align HR strategy with business plans and help implement within their specific location.

  • Proactively develops and implements preventative plans to ensure exceptional results from change initiatives;
  • Leads change by developing managers’ change management skills, including providing potential solutions to leaders on ways to overcome obstacles to change
  • Provides objective feedback to leaders when efforts have gone awry and when change efforts are showing up in behaviors or actions from individuals
  • Identifies pockets of resistance or barriers to change efforts with business partners
  • Helps create strategies to overcome barriers (e.g., by facilitating meetings/conversations to identify root cause issues of change blockers)
  • Executes brand management plans in order to help promote uniformity and consistency of Lowe’s HR brand
  • Drives engagement efforts across the market through team development and collaboration
  • Influences teams to drive positive engagement in the location and helps them prepare and sustain engagement action plans (e.g., by reviewing and approving actions plans within prescribed market)
  • Fosters and supports the Open-Door Process at every opportunity
  • Actively promotes values of credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie
  • Provides feedback to leaders when behaviors are inconsistent with company expectations, including examples and potential solutions to reduce inconsistency
  • Encourages workforce to embrace new philosophies, technologies, and company initiatives and provides insight to higher level leaders for consideration
  • Promotes open and constructive feedback among team members to encourage collaboration and sharing

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 5 years progressive HR experience, with 3 years Human Resources generalist experience (e.g., workforce planning; talent acquisition; career development; interpreting and applying HR policies, procedures, programs and processes)
  • 1 year of experience managing or supervising others, with either direct or indirect responsibilities
  • 3 years working in a cross-functional team environment with exempt and non-exempt staff

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 7 years progressive HR experience, with 3 years Human Resources generalist experience (e.g., workforce planning, talent acquisition, career development, interpreting and applying HR policies, procedures, programs and processes)
  • 3 years of experience managing or supervising others, including 1 year of direct reporting experience
  • 3 years working in a cross-functional team environment in a management capacity with exempt and non-exempt staff, while maintaining a union-free environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing, adapting, or facilitating training
  • Demonstrated experience actively serving as a strategic business partner for other parts of the organization Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Professional in Human Resources, HRCI- PHR, SPHR)
  • Demonstrated experience working in a large, high-volume, multi-shift environment with up to 1,000 employees Demonstrated having multi-site responsibility
