Job Summary:
The Tax Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the Manager of Indirect Tax Compliance with filing all assigned sales and use tax, and environmental fee returns timely and accurately. This includes preparing and processing all related payments in a timely and accurate manner as well as ensuring that all payments are accurately applied to the ledger.

The Tax Coordinator will also have primary responsibility to prepare all assigned sales and use tax registration filings and payments timely and accurately, and to gather and provide all required information necessary to obtain tax incentives available to the company relating to sales and use tax. The incumbent will be required to answer sales and use tax questions from stores by way of the sales and use tax telephone hotline, e-mail and other sources. In addition, the Tax Coordinator will also be asked to assist will gathering information needed for sales and use tax audits.

To accomplish this, the Tax Coordinator should have a basic knowledge of accounting, tax, or business allowing them to learn and understand the concepts of sales and use tax, environmental fees, and tax incentives. Also, knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Word, and Access) will be necessary to accomplish daily tasks due to the amount of data that must be accumulated and analyzed.

Tax Coordinator will collaborate directly with many different functional areas within the company. Most often the collaboration will take place with Corporate Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Store Operations, Marketing and Advertising and IT. However, it is possible that other functional areas can be involved as well. This collaboration is necessary in order to gather required information for sales and use tax audits, tax incentives, and sales tax registrations and returns.



Required Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with less than 2 years of experience working in a business setting.
• This position requires a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Word and Outlook).
• An energetic and positive attitude, combined with a strong willingness to learn and to actively participate in a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and Access).
• Experience with data organization and manipulation using Microsoft Access.
• Experience working in tax.
• Experience in sales and use tax.
