The principle purpose of the Supervisor, Systems Administration is to lead the monitoring and management of the stability, availability, and performance of enterprise systems and systems in one or more additional IT domains. This position manages individual contributors responsible for first- and second-level support for enterprise systems and systems in one or more additional IT domains.

The Supervisor, Systems Administration is also responsible for implementing hardware and software changes into environments and one or more additional IT production environments.

The Supervisor, Systems Administration is responsible for managing and providing results that support efforts to maintain and improve monitoring, management, and infrastructure of systems and systems in one or more additional IT domains. Additionally, this individual documents, reviews, and communicates relevant performance and procedural information for multiple enterprise systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

Leads the monitoring and management of the stability, availability, and performance of enterprise systems and systems in one or more additional IT domains (e.g., systems, network, databases, storage, security) by performing complex systems analysis of incidents, potential problems, trends, and opportunities for improvement; determining severity of system issues or risks; addressing or escalating unresolved or critical risks to lead engineers and IT leadership as appropriate; recommending and executing complex performance tuning, load balancing, and optimization activities; maintaining system configuration; overseeing the performance of maintenance and refresh activities as requested by IT stakeholders (e.g., engineering teams, project teams); validating current release and maintenance levels; overseeing the management of user accounts, network rights, and access to designated systems and equipment; applying security procedures and tools

Leading the provision of first and second level support for enterprise systems and systems in one or more additional IT domains by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex and high impact incidents to minimize non-routine system downtime; providing supervision, coaching, and mentoring on incident resolution to others; overseeing the management of inputs, timelines, and cross-functional resources to drive the delivery of appropriate, sustainable, and prompt solutions; communicating updates to senior IT personnel and management as appropriate; collaborating with technical and project team leaders to resolve system incidents and application-specific issues to ensure optimal performance and integrity; leading break/fix activities; escalating problems to vendors as appropriate; answering system related questions from IT management and leadership; developing, reviewing, and updating disaster recovery procedures; assisting in disaster recovery planning, testing, and activation activities

Implements hardware and software changes intoenvironments and one or more additional IT production environments by performing risk analyses of high impact system changes; managing and adjusting production schedules as needed; adhering to and influencing change management controls; representing IT Operations management in the approval of change control requests; supervising the installation, upgrade, or decommissioning of designated systems, products, and infrastructure as appropriate

Leads efforts to maintain and improve monitoring, management, and infrastructure of systems and systems in one or more additional IT domains by partnering with engineering teams to evaluate new and existing tools, technologies, and standards for designated enterprise systems; providing key insights into the development of long-term capacity and performance planning objectives and goals; driving collaboration with engineers on system designs to standardize, develop advanced features, and improve the efficiency of enterprise systems; leads the provision of application-oriented administration and technical support for development, training, quality assurance, and/or production environments

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years IT experience, including 2+ years in system administration or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports
• Candidate must be willing to work night shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, or related field
• ITIL Certification
• 3+ years of supervisory experience
• 4+ years of experience leading teams with or without direct reports
• 4+ years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
• 4+ years of experience providing IT service management, including diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving escalated incidents
• 4+ years of experience working with defect or incident tracking software
• 4+ years of experience working with third party IT vendors and/or IT infrastructure or solution providers
• 4+ years of experience in software installation and support
• 4+ years of IT experience in the retail industry
• 4+ years of experience writing IT technical documentation
