Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Initiatives Lead leads cross-functional improvement projects within the Supply Chain using Lean and Six Sigma tools. The role will deliver sustained improvement to critical supply chain processes to help management achieve strategic goals and impact financial results (typically in the 1-2million dollar range).

This role also identifies potential projects for process improvement that align with established goals and optimizes the system as a whole. This role is also responsible for coaching the supply chain network on process improvement principles. This role will be a key leader within the Business Process Engineering Team to deliver standardized processes.

To accomplish this, supply chain initiatives lead must have strong organizational knowledge and understand the functioning of a supply chain network. This role must also have a strong knowledge of lean six sigma principles and the ability to apply these principles to a range of supply chain situations and problems.
This role collaborates with distribution leaders (RGMs, AGMs, facility managers) and engineers. This role also works closely with SC operations leaders at all levels of leadership including those at the corporate office in order to streamline and standardize supply chain processes.

This role is critical to Lowe’s because it plays a vital role in improving our processes and providing reliable and efficient service to internal customers and ultimately create the best customer experience.

Travel Requirements :
This role requires travel up to 10% of the time within the US


-Provides project leadership for a portfolio of large and small initiatives by facilitating and leading large cross-functional process improvement teams to deliver results across the supply chain; providing coaching and coordination to individuals managing smaller projects; keeping stakeholders apprised of project status and defined deliverables; leveraging best practices and sharing learnings within the team and across the business.
-Supports the ongoing development of lean six sigma methodology and the individuals implementing the methodology across the supply chain by coaching and mentoring individuals and teams in the practical application of Lean Six Sigma tools to lead improvement initiatives; assisting in delivering training and driving process improvements with the use of quality methodologies and tools; providing guidance and sometimes lead Kaizen / Rapid Improvement Events.

-Helps plan, prioritize, and coordinate lean six sigma initiatives across supply chain buildings by identifying and raising process improvement needs and translating them into projects; planning and coordinating multi-function and cross-facility initiatives; working with operations leaders to prioritize projects and to ensure alignment with established goals and priorities; determining resources needed and working to obtain the resources.

-Provides direction around measuring and monitoring the ongoing performance of processes by assisting teams to develop and maintain process measurements and implement controls to monitor current processes; developing rigorous control plans, working closely with process owners, project champions and senior management to ensure improvement gains are sustained on a long-term basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of experience in a business function.
-3+ years demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional business process improvement projects and/or innovation engagements.
-2+ years of project management experience.
-2+ years’ experience in a distribution with an emphasis on a performance based culture.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook.
-2 years of experience leading teams, with or without direct reports
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
-1 year of experience providing coaching/ Mentorship to peers
-Demonstrated experience delivering formal presentations
