The primary purpose of this role is to design and develop learning solutions that result in the achievement of defined performance objectives for the PRO team. This includes responsibility for planning, organizing, and developing learning solutions to meet targeted business needs. This role is critical to Lowe's as it impacts the effectiveness of development solutions needed by associates to serve the customer and perform effectively.

  • Gathers and analyzes quantitative and qualitative data critical to solutions development
  • Has a creative eye for solutions that innovative--info graphics, animated GIFs, audio podcasts, micro-learning videos--beyond just e-courses as a solution. This means partnering internally with the trade skills and innovation team to come up with learning campaigns that rally associates.
  • Leverages data to identify root causes of performance gaps
  • Designs and develops learning solutions that address root cause issues to drive business performance
  • Adheres to human-centered design and development standards
  • Executes against agreed-upon deadlines and milestones
  • Elevates risks that impact timelines
  • Partners with SMEs and vendors on instructional and human-centered design standards.

This role is office-based only in Mooresville, NC – short drive north of Charlotte, NC.

Responsibility Statements:

  • Supports the development of all instructional training delivery methods (in-person classroom training, e-learning, video production, mobile-learning, self-led, job aids, system simulations, etc.) and mediums such as audio-visual materials, instructor guides, leaning plans, and role/department-specific curricula.
  • Partners with Learning & Development Business Relationship Partners and/or Analysts as well as business leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to recommend solutions based off provided performance objectives.
  • Supports the development, evolution, and integration of learning programs to assist associates in achieving strategic business goals, operational objectives, and professional growth.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles and concepts, instructional design theory, and measurement and evaluation methods.
  • Supports the performance objectives for learning activities and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of associate performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the company.
  • Uses instructional design methodology to design and develop blended learning solutions.
  • Works with the reporting team to evaluate and measure instructional solutions to gauge effectiveness, as needed.
  • Supports the design of learning programs for all Store, Contact Center, and Supply Chain associates.
  • Partners with other associate readiness resources within the departments to design learning projects.
  • Elevates risks and proposes mitigation strategies to meet timelines

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organization Development, Instructional Design, Learning, Leadership, Psychology, or other related fields preferred
  • 3 years of experience in training delivery and/or instructional design experience required; preferably for a large multi-state and/or global company
  • 3 years of progressive instructional design experience in one or more specialty functions of Stores, Contact Centers, Supply Chain, and Systems with the skillset of operational, strategic, and systems thinking.
  • 3 years of experience successfully managing multiple priorities & projects through successful delivery & implementation under time, budget, and political pressure
  • 3 years of experience to effectively communicate and respond situationally/appropriately
  • 3 years of experience with instructional design authoring and media tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline, Vyond, etc. Media tools such as Audio/Video equipment, Vimeo, Premier, etc. Learning Management System (LMS), Content Management, and Mobile content delivery.
  • Retail or Lowe’s Store experience is ideal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Organization Development, Instructional Design, Learning, Leadership, Psychology, or other related fields preferred
  • 5 years of experience in training delivery and/or instructional design experience required; preferably for a large multi-state and/or global company
  • 5 years progressive instructional design experience in one or more specialty functions of Stores, Contact Centers, Supply Chain, and Retail Systems with the skillset of operational, strategic, and systems thinking.
  • 5 years of experience successfully managing multiple priorities & projects through successful delivery & implementation under time, budget, and political pressure
  • 5 years of experience leading, coaching, and mentoring team members and helping to foster/create a “great place to work.”
  • 5 years of experience with instructional design authoring and media tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline, etc. Media tools such as Vimeo, Premier, etc.
  • 3 years of experience with Learning Management System (LMS), Content Management, and Mobile content delivery experience is ideal.
  • Retail or Lowe’s Store experience is ideal
