As a member of the Market & Consumer Insights group within Lowe’s Business Development department, the Senior Insights Analyst will assist on research projects across the organization to provide the voice of the customer.With manager and/or consultant guidance, the Senior Analyst will manage all aspects of a custom research study including, but not limited to, designing methodology, monitoring data collection, interpreting results, revealing actionable insights and communicating implications.This position will also collaborate with other analysts and managers in identifying and synthesizing insights across studies and other initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Senior Insights Analyst will be able to effectively manage and deliver custom research studies.Primary responsibilities include:

Lead all aspects of a research study—including clearly defining research objectives and intended actions, employing appropriate research methods (secondary, quantitative, qualitative), vendor selection, sampling, questionnaire development, analysis, report distribution, etc.—all within a cost-efficient manner.

Work with manager to provide insightful reports responsive to the original objectives, which may include but are not limited to: incorporating insights from other studies; determining the impact on customer segments/targets; and recommended actions/next steps for Lowe’s.

Synthesizes disparate sources of data—primary and secondary to develop cohesive stories, trends and insights that will drive strategic decision making across the enterprise.

Collaborates with key internal partners to develop hypotheses about changes in consumer behavior in retail, in the home and in home improvement and ties this to recommendations on business strategy.

Network across various business units to better understand key areas of focus/problem areas and develop pro-active deliverables that will drive action at various levels of the organization.

Research, test and employ research innovations for improving Lowe’s ability to capture the voice of the consumer/customer.

Ensure integration and alignment of current studies, and reconcile data and findings from new and existing research.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA in Market Research, Marketing, Psychology, Statistics, Business or Economics

Minimum of 3 years of consumer and/or marketing research experience, including hands-on research project management experience

Ability to deliver with limited supervision

Proof of intermediate quantitative and qualitative research skills, including secondary research skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong active analytical curiosity and creativity, as well as a flexible critical thinker and problem solver

Proven ability to integrate and synthesize research information from multiple sources, delivering value-added insights and recommended actions

Strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement

Intermediate knowledge and understanding of: research reporting and interpretation, statistical software and analysis (SPSS or SAS), scoping and research design

Basic understanding of: financial analysis and relational database knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in applying multivariate statistical techniques (ex: factor analysis, cluster analysis, discriminate analysis, regression, etc.)

Experience in both supplier and client-side research roles preferred

MS/MA/MBA preferred

Retail experience a plus
