The primary purpose of this role is to drive company thinking in advanced analytics and insights specific to market insights and real estate investment in order to drive better ROIs across Lowe’s areas of investment. This person will also have responsibility for ensuring that analyses and insights are accurate, impactful, timely and efficient.

The Senior Analyst of Market Insights will leverage an expansive set of analytic techniques and methodologies to create a holistic recommendation to executives of when and where dollars should be invested, especially behind new store locations, and why.

This position requires deep knowledge of disparate data sources, relevant external data and strong domain expertise, especially within the realm of geospatial planning, analytics and forecasting.

In addition, the Senior Analyst of Market Insights will work closely with peers across the Data, Analytics, and Customer Insights team to create new, innovative measurement solutions, holistic insights and recommendations that drive business performance. The partnership will extend to our analytics team in Bangalore as well.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This effort will enable senior leadership understand where to allocate future investments for Lowe’s growth and competitiveness in market.

The key responsibilities to deliver this effort include:

oWorking to ensure the appropriate data reliability and structure for analysis and with supplier-partners to ensure accurate, robust and actionable market prioritization models.

oDeploying results from the real estate models with a simple yet compelling message and recommendation that drives action on the part of the business leaders.

This effort will be to develop predictive statistical models for use in forecasting new stores, transfer sales, relocations, and explain spatial relationships between sister stores.

oModels are currently in place, but throughout this year they will need refreshed and other predictive model types will be explored.

oMore models will help to target only the best opportunities for Lowe’s to invest in smart growth for both Lowe’s big box, and Orchard Supply Hardware.

This effort will enable senior leadership to understand where to allocate future investments for Lowe’s growth and competitiveness in market.

The key responsibilities to deliver this effort include:

oWorking to ensure the appropriate data reliability and structure for analysis and with supplier-partners to ensure accurate, robust and actionable forecasting models.

oDeploying results from the forecast models with a simple yet compelling message and recommendation that drives action on the part of the business leaders.

This effort will enable senior leadership to determine where best to allocate future communication investments for Lowe’s growth and competitiveness as well as how best to respond (or whether to respond) to competitive entry and activities in market.

The key responsibilities to deliver this effort include:

oWorking with others in the Customer Insights & Analytics team to ensure that we tie together claimed and actual behavior to competitive dynamics and activities in key markets.

oLeveraging advanced analytics to build and deliver new ways of testing, especially in the predictive analytics space.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Statistics, Econometrics, Information Sciences, Applied Quantitative or related field plus 3+ years of experience in applied advanced analytical role

2+ years of experience working with analytic software (e.g., Alteryx, ArcGIS, Tableau, SAS, SPSS)

2+ years of experience with geospatial analysis and forecasting

Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally

Experience leading people directly or indirectly

Experience with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in related field

Experience using a querying language (e.g., SQL)

4+ years (e.g., Alteryx, ArcGIS, Tableau, SAS, SPSS, SQL, customer segmentation schemes such as Mosaic, Personicx, etc)

Experience with relational database management, database marketing and/ or customer-centric analytics

Experience working with unstructured/big data

Experience working in a retail environment
