The Lowe’s Supply Chain team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to be a part of the team that is building the next generation home delivery and inventory platform utilizing microservices and a distributed architecture. This individual will be responsible for creating highly available, at scale solutions which will provide a reliable ecosystem to our product teams supporting Lowe’s Supply Chain.

This individual’s role within the team will include working closely with a cross functional team including developers, quality engineers, product managers, infrastructure and engineers across our locations in the US and India to deliver resilient applications and services.
Responsibilities

• Translates business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions with guidance from senior colleagues as appropriate by partnering with Product Management to understand business needs and functional specifications

• Collaborates with architects and/or software consultants to ensure functional specifications are converted into flexible, scalable, and maintainable solution designs

• Develops, configures, or modifies complex integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments by designing and coding component-based applications using various programming languages

• Validates and executes component integration test (CIT) scenarios to identify application errors and ensure software solutions meet functional specifications

• Facilitates the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications by packaging solutions for deployment

• Supports systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) by providing insight to testing teams in order to ensure the appropriate depth of test coverage

• Participates and coaches others in all software development life cycle phases by applying and sharing an in-depth understanding of company and industry methodologies, policies, standards, and controls


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in software development or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in Java & J2EE technologies
• 4+ years of experience developing code and Proof of Concepts
• 4+ years of experience in Service Oriented Architecture developing REST services
• 4+ years of experience in architecting applications using microservice architecture and patterns
• 4+ years of experience decomposing and transitioning a monolith to microservices
• 4+ years of experience in Agile Development and aware of CI-CD best practices
• 4+ years of experience with design considering scalability, availability and performance

Technology

• Well versed in Java and J2EE technologies.
• Extensive experience in Spring, SpringBoot, SpringCloud, ORM, Messaging technologies like Kafka, Caches, REST and database technology (Relational and noSQL)
• Experience in JavaScript libraries like NodeJS, ReactJS
• Worked on Maven, Gradle, GIT and Jenkins
• Experience with Container orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes
• Experience in NoSQL DB ex. Cassandra

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Java, Architect and Cloud certifications
• Experience in security
• Drive the adoption of new technologies by researching technical trends and developments
• Experience in designing and providing technical direction to the team via sessions and UML artifacts
• Able to provide best practices for development, unit testing and acceptance testing
• Should be able to collaborate and work with the global teams
