Merchandising Support Consultant

The primary responsibility is to direct, lead, and manage the progress and completion of assigned merchandising initiatives and projects, which includes facilitating the coordination of IT, Merchandising, Consultants, Vendors, and other functional areas to ensure overall initiative goals are met. This includes responsibility for ensuring initiatives and projects are completed in a manner consistent with the management and execution of corporate and departmental goals and guidelines. This role may be responsible for leading anywhere from 3-5 projects simultaneously.This position will drive the improvement and creation of merchandising processes, using a merchant lens and balancing enterprise priorities.


RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS:

• Lead and manage designated work stream to meet customer and business needs by translating business plans into tactical action items by communicating goals and objectives, aligning cross functional team efforts, and building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results
• Consults with primary business owners to discuss, identify, and address improvement opportunities, assuming responsibility for decision making and alternative solutions needed to meet initiative/project objectives
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders across various business areas (Legal, Transportation, Merchandising, QA, etc.) and SMEs to deliver solutions that will increase sales margin and reduce steps to complete certain activities for the benefits of merchandising or functional areas
• Undertakes projects serving as the merchandising SME for enterprise-wide initiatives or for Merchandising specific projects to provide insight into execution excellence from a merchandising lens and appropriately identify risks to devise solutions
• Oversees identification and scheduling of deliverables, costs, milestones and resources and confers with management to provide direction and resolve challenges
• Completes status reports and modifies schedules and plans as required; regularly communicates project status and related challenges to management through both formal and informal presentations and provides recommendations
• Analyzes customer needs and formulates/defines scope and objectives of assigned initiatives/projects and solutions
• Directs the planning and preparation of business proposals, and make recommendations to senior management
• Coordinate with business, Lowe’s training department, and other areas to identify and address training, communication and change management needs

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management or related field and 3 years experience leading cross-functional efforts and
• Experience in project management and retail
• Or 7+ years experience leading cross-functional efforts in a project management or retail environment


PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in Six Sigma/Lean process methodology
• Masters degree in Business Administration, Management or related field
• Green or Master Black Belt Certification, Project Management Certification (PMP)
