PURPOSE OF ROLE:


The primary purpose of this role is to oversee the translation of business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems and software. This position leads a team of software developers in the development, configuration and modification of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions. This includes responsibility for providing oversight in the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications.


RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS

• Oversees the translation of business requirements and functional specifications in logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions
• Manages a team of software developers in the development, configuration and modification of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions
• Provides oversight in the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions
• Supports systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Manages small to medium scale projects from planning to completion by facilitating meetings with project stakeholders and personnel
• Controls project risks by analyzing and identifying trigger events, establishing contingency plans and recommending ways to mitigate future risks
• Ensures the alignment, buy-in, and support of diverse project stakeholders by building and maintaining trusting relationships with internal customers
• Executes project with full adherence to enterprise project management practices by participating in formal and informal training and tracking & reporting key metrics


QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS or related field
• 8+ years of IT experience
• 5+ years of software development or related field and working on projects involving the implementation of software development life cycles
• 3+ years of experience providing technical direction, thought leadership, mentoring to project or technical team members and database technologies


PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, CIS or related field

5+ years experience with Solr, Endeca or other enterprise scale search solutions
• 5+ years of Retail and/or e-commerce technology experience
• Extensive understanding of B2B and B2C customer interactions
• Work with pricing and promotions engines
• 3+ years of experience managing a global workforce
• Track record of successful delivery in a highly matrixed organization
• Ability to successfully execute software development in an Agile methodology
• Understanding of QA automation tools and an SDET testing model
• 2+ years of experience in a Supervisory, leadership role, managing operational and/or financial budgets
• 3+ years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library, application and integration middleware, working with defect or incident tracking software and working with source code control systems
• 5+ years of experience developing and implementing systems within an organization, managing systems analysis, working with 3rd party vendors and management experience in the retail industry
• 1+ years of IT Consulting experience
