Purpose of role:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide functional and technical support for the global administration of Workday for the HCM and Compensation modules. The responsibilities will include ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and new initiatives/small projects for Workday. This position provides team and solution leadership in the areas of configuration, business process design, system and user acceptance testing, training, implementation, roll-out, and production support. This position also serves as a translator between IT and the business. This position is responsible for developing, proposing and negotiating solutions with diverse stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery so presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and escalation skills are critical.
  • Leads small team in implementing maintenance fixes, enhancements, or project activities for Workday
  • Leads small team to develop value-added technical and functional solutions, both for current applications and for new initiatives
  • Understands, proposes, and manages solution decisions regarding patches, upgrades, vendor functionality roadmaps, etc
  • Serves as project manager on special projects for system initiatives
  • Leads enhancement and upgrade process for defined work stream/business area/application area
  • Leads special projects related to the testing, documentation, piloting, deployment, and communication of new functionality and system enhancements
  • Monitors compliance with HRIS systems and programs as prescribed by Lowe’s business needs and internal partners
  • Proactively ensures tools, pages, security, and other components of the system are present and that program logistics run smoothly
  • Manages enhancement process including identifying opportunities for improvements to existing system or related processes
  • Assesses, implements and manages System needs for all client groups
  • Observes system performance and make changes and recommendations to ensure optimal performance
  • Provides user support through email support, performs issue research and provide timely resolution
  • Informs system users regarding system functionality updates and enhancements, existing and new processes, and best practices
Required Education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Computer Science or related field and5+ years’
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio), and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience supporting a Human Capital Management Systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, etc.
  • Ability to create and maintain reports in tools such as Crystal Reports and PeopleSoft Query Builder
  • 2+ years’ experience in: Project Management experience with the ability to apply fundamental project management methodologies
  • Experience leading system implementation, upgrades, enhancements etc.
  • Proven ability to successfully deliver technical and functional solutions to business problems
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Strong conflict management skills Knowledge of SDLC methodology and experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate IT concepts and terminology to the business
