The principle purpose of the Product Owner is to help prioritize, plan, and manage projects through the implementation process in support of the overall business strategy.These projects may span across various Lowe’s channels; including online, mobile, in-store, call center, and other channels. They are designed to increase sales and profitability, drive customer acquisition/retention, and or enhance Lowe’s brand position. Project scope often encompasses productivity tools, consumer interactions, and enterprise utilities.

The Product Owner will also have primary responsibility for working with the IT delivery teams and Business Analysts to communicate priorities, business strategy, and ensure key requirements are clearly defined.She/he will need to bring a high level of technical knowledge and ability around how digital properties are constructed and operated in order to ensure Lowe’s Digital builds out the most effective experience/systems/components available.She/he works closely with UX, Product Management, IT solutions and QA.

The Product Owner will be responsible for managing and providing results that support the Lowe’s Digital organization.

In addition, the Product Owner will work closely with product management, merchandising, marketing, information technology, application/services vendors, and numerous other internal and external parties with the goal of clearly defining and delivering to strategy across multiple channels.

Essential Responsibilities:

Represent the business needs and requirements to drive feature implementation & development through collaboration with Business Stakeholders, Architecture, UX, and IT delivery teams.

Maintain a prioritized feature backlog based on business value ROI, alignment with Product Strategy, and resource capacity.

In partnership with Business Analyst team, clearly define user stories and acceptance criteria. Review and approve large requirements (Epics) and smaller requirements (Stories) based on feature strategy.

Build and leverage solid working relationships with business and product stakeholders, other Product Owners, architecture and strategy teams to facilitate successful feature implementation.

Use of tracking tools for product backlog and project management.

Understand business needs, strategic intent, use cases and customer experience to integrate into user requirements and make key decisions during development.

Understand development team abilities and capacity to aid in resource planning.

Identify business support needs in conjunction with Business Analyst and IT delivery teams.

Understand value, complexity, and timelines to make decisions about priorities.

Enhance the customer experience by synthesizing and applying product, consumer, and Lowes customer satisfaction data.

Support the business by applying multi-functional subject matter expertise of business processes, systems, and integration that spans multiple business functions to facilitate continuous improvement and innovation.

Manage relationships between internal and external parties, including agencies and vendors for specified initiatives.

Understand key metrics to recommend a course of action and manage through to realization.

Support and maintain Lowe’s brand.

Business Influence

Manages and organizes product backlog, understanding the Lowe’s Digital functional plan and how work aligns with overall enterprise alignment to ensure efficient workflow.

Establishes and maintains strong customer relationships externally as well as internally with IT, UX, Architecture, Business Analysts, and Business Intelligence in order to make effective business decisions.

Serves as a liaison to Business Stakeholders by providing transparency within the project development cycle.

Embraces the concept of continuous iteration and negotiates with various business and IT solutions partners on delivering a Minimal Viable Product (MVP) to gain customer insights, and other performance KPIs to influence future development cycles.

Escalates high priority issues to Product Owner Manager to facilitate business improvement.

Focuses others’ time and efforts on projects that are critical to the business unit’s success, helps obtain resources, and works through others to remove barriers.

Works cross-functionally to effectively complete projects, solve problems, and improve processes.

Provides team, peers, and manager with feedback which drives Lowe’s Digital’s outstanding culture.

Serves as a mentor to peers.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree OR 6+ years of experience in e-Commerce, Digital Channels or Retail Operations

3+ years experience in 2 or more of the following: project management, product management, business analysis, program management or product marketing

3+ years experience working with cross-functional peers, vendors and multiple stakeholder groups

Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams without direct report relationships

Demonstrated experience working across channels and/or with realization metrics

Demonstrated experience with agile / scrum teams

Experience working in an Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall Methodology

Knowledge of MS Project, Excel, Power Point and Word

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of ecommerce or relevant experience with solid understanding of the creative elements, advertising, marketing, brand positioning and business development

1+ years experience translating business strategy into specific product features

1+ years experience in product design and/or product management

1+ years experience in the basics of full-lifecycle customer marketing and management of related technologies

Previous experience with Websphere Commerce, Adobe Experience Manager, and Endeca

CSPO Certification
