Lowe's 2019 Summer Internship Program offers challenging assignments to undergraduate and graduate students, enhancing their understanding of the retail business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a FORTUNE® 50 company. The summer internship program begins with orientation in late May and concludes in early August. All internships are paid and housing is available for those that qualify. This role has potential for conversion into a full-time position for those that successfully complete the internship and upon candidate's graduation.

The internship will consist of a project-based assignment to broaden learning, experience, and organizational knowledge and business acumen. We are looking for people driven by potential. Education and/or Experience
Pursuing a MBA with a focus in International Business or Supply Chain with expected graduation date of December 2019 or May 2020
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required
Proficiency in MSOffice Programs (specifically Word, Excel and Access)
Strong collaborative, analytical, problem solving, business development and communication skills, along with financial and business acumen are required
Business level fluency in Mandarin and Vietnamese is desireable
Familiarity with Vietnamese culture and common business practices is a plus
Relevant internship and experience is a plus, as is experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization
International travel may be required to Lowe's Allied Business Partners or LGS offices

Potential Areas of Learning
Lowe’s Global Sourcing (LGS) serves Lowe's internal customers by offering international business solutions and recommendations to bring lower cost, unique and quality products to our external customers. The focus of LGS includes:
Reducing costs on imported merchandise
Providing advice on foreign business opportunities
Building relationships in the countries where Lowe's presently purchases product or desires to so in the future
Simplifying the import sourcing process
Providing supply chain visibility and execution by maintaining direct communication between Lowe's logistic representatives,
foreign manufacturers and ocean carriers

Maintain an awareness of global trends
Certification of factory standards and capabilities
Greater control of product quality
Ensure proper set up of import vendors and programs
