Internship Program Overview
Lowe's 2019 Summer Internship Program offers challenging assignments to undergraduate and graduate students, enhancing their understanding of the retail business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a FORTUNE 50 company. The summer internship program begins with orientation in late May and concludes in early-August. All internships are paid
and housing is available for those that qualify. This role has potential for conversion into a full-time position for those that successfully complete the internship and upon candidate's graduation.

The internship will consist of a project-based assignment to broaden learning, experience, organizational knowledge, and business acumen. We are looking for people driven by potential. Education and/or Experience
•Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Data Science with an expected graduation date of December 2019 or May 2020
•Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required
•Proficient in MSOffice Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and Access)

•Experience in quantitative data analysis, text mining, and image processing and analysis
•Strong understanding of Angular, Java, and HTML5.
•Basic understanding/ knowledge around micro-services (Docker, Kubernetes) and Cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
•Strong collaborative, innovative, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required
•Relevant internship and experience with agile development/ DevOps practices is a plus, as is experience
in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization

Potential Areas of Learning

•Pricing Master Solution - Working within a scrum team to build out a new solution that will centralize all pricing management, including strategy, planning, rules, stacking and execution across the enterprise. Specific tasks will be defined based upon the backlog of user stories and will be executed based on a defined set of story points and sprints. Knowledge around micro-services and cloud platforms is a plus.

•Global Sourcing area - Working within a scrum team to build out solutions that will focus on vendor compliance for our Global Sourcing areas to include sustainable wood production. Capabilities include building surveys for vendors that validates there production and sourcing of wood is sustainable and within Lowe's standards. Must have extensive experience with Anglular, HTML5 and Agile/ DevOps practices. Knowledge of microservice and cloud platforms a plus.

•Space Planning Solution - Working within a scrum team to build out solutions that optimize our space planning and product location in our stores. Capabilities include optimizing our product location features leveraging AI algorithms to recommend aisle and bay information for items where aisle and bay are missing. Specific tasks will be defined based upon the backlog of user stories and will be executed based on a defined set of story points and sprints.
