An Accommodation Specialist on the ERCS team is responsible for participating in the establishment and implementation of the accommodation request process for the company. Such processes include those related to requests from both active employees and those returning from an approved medical leave of absence. The Specialist will work with the leave process and evaluate requests for: (1) additional leave time; (2) work accommodations based on a medical restriction/disability following an approved leave of absence; (3) leave extension or (4) any work accommodation such as a permanent/temporary reassignment to another position based on a medical condition/disability.

An Accommodations Specialist will facilitate the interactive process between the employee, the location manager and field human resource manager to identify appropriate work accommodation options and monitor the implementation of same. Accommodation Specialist will support all tracking, reporting, and compliance obligations related to end-of-leave functions, including any training requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
· Support the Accommodation Request Process for all Employees including those on an approved Leave
· Engage in interactive process with employees requesting additional leave, modifications to assist the employees to perform their essential job duties, or requesting reassignment.
· Review and evaluate accommodation requests and recommend appropriate accommodation options.
· Confer with location human resources and location managers
regarding employee accommodation requests and responses.
· Facilitate response to accommodation requests.
· Develop standardized methods for handling frequent end-of-leave/return to work accommodation requests and requests for additional leave.
· Appropriately document accommodation responses and end-of-leave termination decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree
· 3-5 years case management experience in the disability/worker’s compensation/FMLA/counseling arena
· Strong interpersonal skills – ability to communicate decisions effectively and recognize legal risk associated with certain disability issues
· Strong written communication skills and the ability to document effectively to satisfy regulatory requirements

Preferred Qualifications
· 5+ years experience in managing disability accommodation cases that include return to
work programs
· Subject matter expertise in ADA and FMLA with working knowledge of worker’s compensation
