Job Summary:

The focus of the maintenance team is to keep equipment in the Regional Distribution Center (RDC) fully operational when needed. The Maintenance Mechanic II is a very experienced and highly capable mechanic who can safely and independently repair all of the equipment in the RDC. The Mechanic II is able to prioritize tasks, plan work, determine the type of repair needed, obtain or order the appropriate spare parts, and execute the repair. This person is capable of performing complex tasks and coordinating a team to execute the tasks. The Mechanic II oversees work performed by lesser-skilled mechanics and mentors them. This position covers for the shift Maintenance Coach during Coach absences and coordinates with the building Operations management as needed to perform maintenance tasks. The Mechanic II gains the leadership skills needed to be promotable into a Maintenance Coach role.

Schedule: Friday - Sunday (6:00am - 6:30pm)

Qualifications:

Possess a valid state drivers license • Demonstrated adherence to safety requirements • Highly motivated for the team’s success; demonstrated success as a contributing member to a team; works well with others • Individually motivated to succeed • Demonstrated capacity for leadership, although no formal training may have been provided yet • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound decisions; prioritizes tasks • Able to read blueprints , schematics, and other technical drawings • Can follow instructions and pays attention to detail • Willing to teach others new skills and provide instructions while on the job • Able to work in a fast-changing environment; adapts easily to new situations • Communicates well; clearly explains a problem • Creative problem solving; can analyze a problem, troubleshoot, and come to a resolution quickly • Demonstrate knowledge and skill to safety troubleshoot and repair electrical systems ranging up to 600 volts • If required by local regulations, certified to perform work at the Sr. Mechanic level (such as electrical work in the state of Oregon) • Able to operate various maintenance and operations vehicles and equipment • High school diploma or GED equivalent with at least 4 years related maintenance experience • Able to see objects and discriminate color • Comfortable working at tall heights

Preferred Qualifications: • Welding and fabrication skills/certifications • Electrical work certification or high voltage work certification • Technical school graduate preferred
